Introduction

The government of Bangladesh put soldiers and police in many cities. They want to stop the Awami League party from meeting.

Main Body

The Awami League party has a special day on June 23. The government does not want people to fight or protest. So, the army is in six cities from June 22 to June 30. In Dhaka, 18,000 police officers are working. They made 200 checkpoints.

The Awami League is now an illegal party. A new government banned the party in May 2025. The current leader, Tarique Rahman, keeps this law. This is because of old crimes and court cases.

On June 22, police went to a house in Dhaka. They caught ten people from the Awami League. The police took their flags and cars. These people wanted to walk in the streets. This happened after the old leader, Sheikh Hasina, left the country.
