The 'More' Pattern

In this text, we see a very useful way to describe changes: More + Noun.

  • More tax
  • More money
  • More prices

How it works: When you want to say there is a larger amount of something, just put "more" in front of the thing.

Comparing Prices Look at the numbers in the story: 15,000 yen \rightarrow 30,000 yen

We describe this as: "Prices are now much higher."

Quick Vocabulary List:

  • Raise \rightarrow To make something go up (like a price).
  • Fees \rightarrow Money you pay for a service (like a visa).
