⚡ The 'Action' Pattern

In this story, we see how to describe things happening right now or in the past. This is the key to A2 English.

1. The 'Right Now' Style (Present Simple) We use this for facts or things that are generally true.

  • China says... → (China is speaking now/generally)
  • Ukraine sends... → (This is their current habit/plan)

2. The 'Already Happened' Style (Past Simple) When the action is finished, the word often changes (usually adding -ed).

  • StopStopped
  • CloseClosed
  • WantWanted (though here 'wants' is used for current feelings)

3. The Special 'Irregular' Words Some words don't follow the -ed rule. You just have to remember them:

  • SaySaid
  • DoDid
  • DieDied (Regular)

Quick Look: The Flow Subject + Action + Object Example: Russia (Who) → stopped (Action) → 300 drones (What)
