⚡ The 'Past Action' Pattern

Look at how these words describe things that already happened:

  • Gave (Give → Gave)
  • Hurt (Hurt → Hurt)
  • Ran (Run → Ran)
  • Told (Tell → Told)
  • Lost (Lose → Lost)
  • Won (Win → Won)

Why this matters for A2: In English, many words change their shape to show the past. Some are simple, but some change completely (like Win becoming Won).

Quick Guide:

  • Action Now: India wins the game.
  • Action Before: India won the game. \rightarrow It is finished.
