💡 The 'Advice' Pattern

In this text, we see how to tell people what to do. For A2 learners, the word 'should' and 'must' are your best tools for giving advice.

The Logic:

  • Must \rightarrow Strong / Necessary (No choice)
  • Should \rightarrow Good idea / Advice (A suggestion)

Examples from the text:

  1. They must be careful \rightarrow (Important! Don't make a mistake).
  2. They should talk clearly \rightarrow (This is a good way to fix the problem).
  3. You should eat healthy food \rightarrow (A tip for a better life).

Quick Rule: Just put the word after must or should. No "to", no "-ing".

  • You should walk
  • You should to walk
