Vocabulary Learning

⏱️ Past vs. Present

Look at how the story changes time. We use different word endings to show when things happened.

The Past (Finished) Words ending in -ed tell us the action is over:

  • gave → gave (special word)
  • finish → finished
  • apply → apply (Wait! This is for the future)

The Present (Now) Words that describe the current situation:

  • can apply → (Ability to do it now)
  • has → (Possession now)

🗺️ Scale: Big to Small

Notice how the text describes locations. To reach A2, you must order places from largest to smallest:

Country \rightarrow City \rightarrow College/University

  • Example: Devina is the best in the country \rightarrow she took the test in a city \rightarrow she will go to a university.
