India Stops Telegram for a Short Time

Telegram

Introduction

The Indian government stopped people from using Telegram. They did this to keep a big school test fair.

Main Body

Some people used Telegram to sell test answers for a lot of money. They also changed messages to trick the government. Because of this, the government blocked the app from June 16 to June 22.

The government also found other problems. Many people used Telegram for scams and bad photos. It is hard for police to find these people because Telegram does not ask for a phone number.

Telegram told a judge that the ban was unfair. They said most users are good people. But the judge said the government was right to stop the app to protect students.

Conclusion

People can use Telegram again now. But they cannot edit their messages until June 30.
