Introduction

Two groups in the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party are fighting. They both told the Election Commission of India (ECI) that they are the real leaders.

Main Body

The party lost many seats in the last election. Now, a group led by Ritabrata Banerjee says they are the leaders. They removed Mamata Banerjee from her job on June 19, 2026. Mamata Banerjee says she is still the leader.

Many party members now support the rebel group. The bank stopped the party from using its money. Also, 20 members left the party because they did not like Abhishek Banerjee.

The ECI must now decide who is the real leader. They will look at who has more members and leaders. The winner will keep the party name and the flower symbol. The loser must start a new party.

Conclusion

The ECI will decide who owns the party and the money soon.

⚡ The 'Action' Words (Past vs. Now)

In this story, we see how things changed. Look at how the words change when something already happened:

  • Lose (Now) \rightarrow Lost (Past)
  • Say (Now) \rightarrow Said (Past)

Watch this pattern: "The party lost many seats." \rightarrow This happened before today. "Mamata Banerjee says she is still the leader." \rightarrow She is saying this right now.

🛠️ Who owns what? (Possession)

To show who 'has' something, we use simple words. In A2 English, we focus on Who + Verb + Thing:

  1. The bank \rightarrow stopped \rightarrow the money
  2. The winner \rightarrow will keep \rightarrow the name

Quick Tip: When you see "The [Person/Group]", it usually tells you who is doing the action.

  • Example: "The ECI must now decide." \rightarrow ECI is the boss here.
