Time Travel: Past vs. Now

Look at how the story changes from Old Things (Past) to Current Things (Present).

1. The Past (Finished Actions) We use words like asked, talked, stopped, and felt. Notice the -ed ending. This tells us the action is over.

  • Example: "Three sports experts had a fight." (It happened already).
  • Example: "The accident stopped Jay." (The action is finished).

2. The Present (Now/General) We use words like are and want. This is for things that are true right now.

  • Example: "Darryn Peterson are very good." (He is good today).
  • Example: "The men want to talk." (This is their feeling now).

Quick Guide

  • Happened before \rightarrow use -ed (talked, asked).
