Vocabulary Learning

⚡ Focus: Past Action Words

In the story, we see how to talk about things that already happened. Most of these words just add -ed at the end.

The Pattern:

  • Push \rightarrow Pushed
  • Check \rightarrow Checked
  • Move \rightarrow Moved

⚠️ The Rule Breakers

Some words are 'rebels.' They don't follow the -ed rule. You must memorize them as they are:

  • Drive \rightarrow Drove (Not drived)
  • Say \rightarrow Said (Not sayed)
  • Die \rightarrow Died (This one is regular, but looks different!)

💡 A2 Quick Tip: Using 'Now'

Look at the difference in the text:

  1. "Michael drove..." \rightarrow (Past/Finished)
  2. "Groups are now looking..." \rightarrow (Happening right now)

When you see are + word with -ing, the action is still going on.
