Vocabulary Learning
🛠️ The 'Action' Pattern: Past Tense
In this story, everything already happened. To tell a story in English, we usually add -ed to the end of the action word.
Watch these changes:
- Help → Helped
- Want → Wanted
- Look → Looked
- Arrive → Arrived
⚠️ The 'Rule Breakers'
Some words are rebels. They don't follow the -ed rule. You must memorize them as they are:
- Go Went
- Do Did
- Have Had
Example from the text: "They went to buy food." (Not "goed")
💡 Quick Logic: Negative Actions
When we want to say "No" in the past, we use did not + the normal word.
- Wrong:
did not bought - Right: did not buy (The "did" already tells us it is the past, so the second word stays simple).
