🕒 Talking about the Past

In this story, everything already happened. To tell a story in English, we often add -ed to the end of the action word.

Look at these changes:

  • Land \rightarrow Landed
  • Move \rightarrow Moved
  • Help \rightarrow Helped

⚠️ The 'Special' Words

Some words are rebels. They do not follow the -ed rule. You must memorize these to reach A2 level:

  • Have \rightarrow Had (The captain had a problem)
  • Go \rightarrow Went (He went to the hospital)
  • Fly \rightarrow Flew (The plane flew to Halifax)

💡 Quick Logic

If you see "could not", it means the person wanted to do something, but it was impossible.

Example: He could not fly the plane.
