🗓️ Talking About the Past
Look at how the story tells us things that already happened. We use a special word: HAD.
- Pakistan had an earthquake.
- Japan had two earthquakes.
- The Philippines had a big earthquake.
The Pattern:
Person/Place → had → thing
Why this is useful: Instead of learning many difficult words, you can use HAD to describe a past event or a past experience.
Compare:
- Now: I have a cold. Past: I had a cold.
- Now: Japan has an earthquake. Past: Japan had an earthquake.
