Main Body

On May 20, a helicopter fell near Leh. Two pilots and one general were hurt, but only a little. A part in the machine broke. Now, the army still flies every day in the high mountains.

Other helicopters are too heavy for these mountains. The Cheetal is light and strong. It works well in high places. But these helicopters are more than 30 years old. They are hard to fix now.

The army wants new helicopters. They will buy 250 new Light Utility Helicopters in the next ten years. They also want new scout helicopters by 2027.

Conclusion

The army uses old helicopters now, but they will get new ones soon.

⚡ The 'Now vs. Later' Shift

Look at how the story moves from the present (what is happening) to the future (what will happen). This is the secret to A2 storytelling.

1. Right Now (Present Simple) We use this for facts and things that are true today.

  • The army uses old helicopters. \rightarrow Fact.
  • They are hard to fix. \rightarrow Current state.
  • The Cheetal is light. \rightarrow Description.

2. The Change (Future with 'Will') When the army wants to change the situation, they use will + action.

  • They will buy 250 new helicopters. \rightarrow Future plan.
  • They will get new ones soon. \rightarrow Future result.

Quick Contrast:

  • Now: Old \rightarrow Later: New
  • Now: Hard to fix \rightarrow Later: Will buy

💡 Vocabulary Note: 'Too' vs. 'Very'

  • Very old: Just a high level (It is 30 years old).
  • Too heavy: A problem (It cannot fly because of the weight).

Tip: Use 'Too' when something stops an action from happening.
