Introduction

Electricity companies in Hong Kong are raising prices because fuel costs are higher. They are also giving money back to some people to help them.

Fuel for power is now more expensive. This happened because of wars in the Middle East. HK Electric and CLP Power increased their prices in July.

Experts say prices will stay high in August. Home electricity bills will be 5% to 10% more expensive than before.
