Vocabulary Learning

Talking about the Future

In the text, we see a pattern using 'will'. This is the easiest way to talk about things that happen later.

The Pattern: Person/Thing + will + Action

Examples from the story:

  • He will join the protest.
  • He will stop eating.

How to use it simply: If you want to say something is going to happen tomorrow or next week, just put will before the action word.

  • I will study English. \rightarrow (Future plan)
  • She will go to school. \rightarrow (Future plan)

Who is doing what? (The 'Who' words)

Notice how the text uses different words to talk about the same people so it doesn't sound boring:

  • The Cockroach Janta Party \rightarrow They \rightarrow The group
  • Sonam Wangchuk \rightarrow He

Tip: Use 'He' for one man, 'She' for one woman, and 'They' for a group of people.
