🌍 Simple Action Words (Past Tense)

In this news report, we see how to talk about things that already happened.

The Pattern: Most of these words just add -ed at the end to show the past.

  • hurt \rightarrow hurt (Stayed the same!)
  • judge \rightarrow judged
  • change \rightarrow changed

The 'Special' Words: Some words change completely. You must memorize these:

  • go \rightarrow went
  • fall \rightarrow fell
  • win \rightarrow won

💰 Who owns what? (Possessives)

Look at how the text describes people and things:

The US military\text{The US military} \rightarrow The military of the US. World leaders\text{World leaders} \rightarrow Leaders of the world.

Tip: In English, we often put the "owner" (the US, the World) before the "thing" (military, leaders) to keep the sentence short.
