Notice how the story describes things that already happened. We add -ed to the end of the action word:

- Try Tried

🚫 Saying 'No' in the Past
When we want to say something did NOT happen, we use did not + the basic action word (no -ed!).
- They did not win.
- He did not play.
Wait! Look at the difference:
