🕒 The 'Past' Secret
In this story, everything happened in the past. To talk about yesterday or last year, we often just add -ed to the action word.
Look at these changes:
- Hit Hit (This one is a trick! It stays the same)
- Break Broke (Special change)
- Fall Fell (Special change)
- Arrive Arrived
- Tell Told (Special change)
- Stop Stopped
🚫 Saying 'NO'
When we want to say something did NOT happen in the past, we use a magic word: did not.
The Pattern:
did not + original action word (no -ed!)
- Wrong: The government did not said
- Right: The government did not say
Example from the text: "This plane was not allowed to fly there."
