🔎 The 'Who did what' Pattern

In this story, we see a pattern of Person \rightarrow Action. This is the easiest way to build A2 sentences.

1. The Simple Action

  • Police \rightarrow found (The police found the questions)
  • Police \rightarrow arrested (The police arrested three people)

2. The 'Feeling' Action When we describe emotions, we use Person \rightarrow is/are \rightarrow Feeling.

  • Leaders \rightarrow are \rightarrow angry
  • Groups \rightarrow are \rightarrow angry

3. The 'Want' Action To say what someone desires, use Person \rightarrow want \rightarrow Action.

  • They \rightarrow want \rightarrow to punish
  • They \rightarrow want \rightarrow to say sorry

Quick Tip: Notice how the words found, arrested, and stole are in the past. To talk about things that already happened, we often add -ed to the end of the action word.
