The 'Action' Pattern
In this story, we see how to describe things that already happened. We use a simple rule: Change the action word to show it is in the past.
Look at these changes:
- Hear Heard
- See Saw
- Write Wrote
- Think Thought
- Say Did not say
Why this helps you: To reach A2, you must stop talking only about now. You need to tell stories about yesterday.
The Pattern in the Text: "People wrote about it on the internet. They thought it was fireworks."
Notice how the words wrote and thought tell us the event is finished. If we used write and think, it would sound like it is happening right this second.
