⚡ The 'Past' Pattern

Look at how the text talks about things that already happened. We use a special form of the word to show it is over.

The Rule: Word + -ed = Happened before.

Examples from the text:

  • Fire → Fired
  • Play → Played

Be Careful! Some words are 'rebels' and change completely. They don't use -ed:

  • Win → Won
  • Do → Did
  • Make → Made

Quick Guide:

  • They did not win. (Negative past)
  • They made mistakes. (Positive past)
