⚡ The 'Past' Power-Up
Look at these words from the story: played, won, stopped, scored, hit, lost.
When we talk about things that already happened, we usually add -ed to the end of the word. This is the easiest way to move from A1 to A2.
- Play → Played
- Stop → Stopped
- Score → Scored
⚠️ The Rule-Breakers Some words are 'rebels.' They don't use -ed. You just have to memorize them:
- Win → Won
- Hit → Hit (stays the same!)
- Lose → Lost
🛑 Saying 'No' in the Past
To say something didn't happen, use: did not + base word.
- Correct: He did not let the team score.
- Wrong: He
did not letted.
Quick Tip: Once you use "did not," the action word goes back to its normal, present shape.
did not play / win / score
