💡 The 'Past Action' Pattern
Look at these words from the text:
- fired
- worked
- investigated
What is happening? In English, when we talk about things that happened yesterday or in the past, we often add -ed to the end of the action word.
Simple Examples:
- Work Worked
- Investigate Investigated
Quick Tip for A2: If you see -ed, the action is finished. It is not happening now.
🧩 Useful Word Pairs
Certain words always go together to make a clear meaning. Learn these as 'blocks' instead of single words:
- Lost their jobs (They are not working now)
- High military officers (Important people in the army)
- Important meetings (Big talks with leaders)
