🚨 Action Words: Past vs. Present

In this story, we see how English changes when something already happened versus what is happening now.

1. The 'Finished' Actions (Past) Most of the story uses words that end in -ed. This tells us the action is over.

  • helped → (they did it)
  • tipped → (it happened)
  • used → (they finished using them)

2. The 'Still Happening' Actions (Present) When the story talks about the search right now, the words change to are + -ing.

  • are looking → (they are doing it now)
  • continues → (it is still going)

Quick Guide for A2: Past \rightarrow’s usually -ed (e.g., saved) Now \rightarrow’s usually are + ing (e.g., are searching)
