New Rules for Home Buyers

Introduction

Two government offices in India made new decisions about home buyers and their money.

Main Body

In Maharashtra, a person wanted their money back. The office said no. This person did not buy a home to live in. They gave money to make a profit. This is a business deal, not a home purchase.

In Punjab, a buyer was angry because the home was late. The buyer wanted extra money. The office said no. The buyer already took the keys to the home.

Now, the law says you cannot ask for extra money if you already live in the home. You only get this money if you leave the project.

Conclusion

The law only helps real home buyers. It does not help business investors or people who already have their homes.

💡 The 'Action' Pattern

Look at how the text tells us what people wanted vs. what happened. This is the key to moving from A1 to A2: connecting a desire to a result.

The Pattern: Person \rightarrow Wanted \rightarrow Result (No/Yes)

Examples from the text:

  • Person \rightarrow wanted money back \rightarrow Office said no.
  • Buyer \rightarrow wanted extra money \rightarrow Office said no.

Why this helps you: Instead of just saying "I want coffee," you can now describe a situation:

  • "I wanted a coffee, but the shop was closed."

Quick Word Shift Notice these opposite words used in the story:

  • Real home buyer (Someone who lives there) \leftrightarrow Business investor (Someone who wants profit)
