🕰️ Talking about the Past
In this story, we see how to describe things that already happened. To do this, we often add -ed to the end of the action word.
Watch the change:
- Look → Looked
- Want → Wanted
The 'Rule Breakers' (Words that change completely): Some words don't follow the -ed pattern. You just have to memorize them!
- Run → Ran
- Find → Found
- Leave → Left
- Kill → Killed (This one follows the rule!)
Example from the text: "Police found the body" → This happened in the past. "He ran away" → This also happened in the past.
Quick Tip: When you see a date (like June 28 or 1991), you almost always need to use these 'Past' versions of words.
