The 'Money' Logic

Look at these sentences:

  • "The government spends less money."
  • "They pay for lights."

In English, we use these words when money goes out \rightarrow Spend/Pay\text{Spend/Pay}.

Who does what?

Notice how the text talks about people:

  • Private companies \rightarrow (They help/pay)
  • The government \rightarrow (It owns/gives)
  • Architects \rightarrow (They find jobs)

Tip: When we talk about a group (like companies), we use They. When we talk about one organization (like the government), we use It.

Action Words (Simple Present)

These are facts. They are always true in this story:

  • Fix \rightarrow Make it good again.
  • Clean \rightarrow Remove dirt.
  • Own \rightarrow It belongs to me/them.
