🕵️ The 'Action' Pattern

In this story, everything happens in the Past. To talk about things that already happened, we often just add -ed to the end of the word.

Look at these changes:

  • Arrest \rightarrow Arrested
  • Watch \rightarrow Watched
  • Change \rightarrow Changed
  • Look \rightarrow Looked

⚠️ The 'Rule Breakers'

Some words are 'rebels.' They do not use -ed. You must memorize them because they change their whole shape:

  • Steal \rightarrow Stole
  • Give \rightarrow Gave
  • See \rightarrow Saw

A2 Tip: If you aren't sure, try the -ed sound first, but always check if the word is a 'rule breaker' like stole or saw!
