🐾 The 'Action' Shift

Look at how we describe things that happened in the past. In this text, we see a pattern: Adding -ed.

The Pattern: Word \rightarrow Past Version

  • Attack \rightarrow Attacked
  • Want \rightarrow Wanted
  • Stay \rightarrow Stayed

⚠️ The 'Rule Breakers' Some words are 'rebels.' They don't follow the -ed rule. You just have to memorize them:

  • Eat \rightarrow Ate (Not 'eated')
  • Die \rightarrow Died (Regular!)
  • Catch \rightarrow Caught (Irregular)
  • Is \rightarrow Was (Special change)

Quick Tip for A2: When you tell a story about yesterday, look for the -ed ending. If the word looks completely different (like catch becoming caught), it is an irregular word.
