🧩 THE 'ACTION' PATTERN
Look at how we describe things that already happened. We take a simple action word and often add -ed to the end.
The Pattern:
- Help → Helped
- Save → Saved
- Fix → Fixed
💡 QUICK GUIDE
| Now (Present) | Then (Past) |
|---|---|
| The army builds | The army builded (built*) |
| People die | People died (died) |
Note: 'Build' changes to 'Built'—some words are rebels!
🛠️ USE IT LIKE THIS
If you want to tell a story about yesterday, use the -ed sound:
- "India helped Venezuela." → (It happened in the past)
- "The doctor fixed the leg." → (The job is finished)
- "Houses fell down." → (This happened during the earthquake)
