The Simple Rule: To talk about yesterday or last week, we usually add -ed to the action word.

🚫 How to say 'No' in the Past

Look at this sentence: "England did not play."

When we want to say something didn't happen, we use did not + the normal action word.

Watch out! We do NOT say did not played.
