📌 The "Past Story" Pattern

To tell a story about something that already happened, we change the action word (verb). Look at how these words changed in the text:

  • Live \rightarrow Lived
  • Work \rightarrow Worked
  • Rain \rightarrow Rained
  • Move \rightarrow *Moved

The Simple Rule: Just add -ed to the end of the word to move it from Now to Then.

🛠️ Special "Broken" Words

Some words don't follow the -ed rule. They change completely. These are very common for A2 learners:

NowThen (Past)Example from Text
IsWasThe man's name was...
AreWereOther people were in danger
GoWentHis car went into the water
FindFoundThey found his body

💡 Quick Tip for A2

If you see -ed or was/were, the story is over. You are reading about the past.
