💡 The 'Want' Pattern

In this text, we see a very useful way to express a desire for change. At the A2 level, you need to say what you want using a simple formula:

[Person/Group] + want + [Thing/Action]

  • The Raiders \rightarrow want \rightarrow a strong front line.
  • The Commanders \rightarrow want \rightarrow to make this part better.
  • John Mozeliak \rightarrow wants \rightarrow to buy good players.

⚠️ Small Rule Change: When talking about one person (He/She), we add an 's' to the word:

  • They want
  • He wants

Quick Vocabulary Check:

  • Strong (Powerful) \leftrightarrow Weak (Not powerful)
  • New (Recent) \leftrightarrow Old (Past)
