⚡ Action Words: Past vs. Now

In this story, everything happened in the past. To tell a story, we usually add -ed to the end of the action word.

The Pattern:

  • Live → Lived
  • Fight → Fighted (Wait! This is a trick word. We say Fought)
  • Heat → Heated
  • Pour → Poured
  • Stop → Stopped

⚠️ The 'Rule Breakers'

Some words don't follow the -ed rule. You just have to remember them:

  • Get \rightarrow Got
  • Take \rightarrow Took
  • Buy \rightarrow Bought
  • Say \rightarrow Said
  • Go \rightarrow Went

💡 Quick Tip

If you see "did" or "did not", the action word goes back to its normal form.

  • Wrong: The judge did not gave him...
  • Right: The judge did not give him...
