Look at how the story changes from the present (now) to the past (before).

1. Right now (The Present) We use these words for things happening today:

  • Watching →\rightarrow "People are watching it."
  • Making →\rightarrow "The movie is making more money."

2. Before (The Past) We add -ed to the end of the action word to show it is finished:

  • Direct →\rightarrow Directed
  • Help →\rightarrow Helped

⚠️ The Special Word: Some words don't follow the -ed rule. They change completely:

  • Make →\rightarrow Made
  • Buy →\rightarrow Bought
  • Go →\rightarrow Went (In the text: "had to go")

Quick Tip: If you see -ing, it is happening now. If you see -ed (or a special past word), it is a memory.
