⚡ The 'Want' Pattern

In this text, we see a very useful way to talk about desires: Want + Person + To + Action

Look at these examples from the story:

  • "They want the world to help them."
  • "They want China to stop this law."
  • "They want a group to check..."

How it works: If you want someone else to do something, don't just say "I want help." Use this bridge:

Subject \rightarrow Want \rightarrow Who \rightarrow To (Do something)

Everyday Examples:

  • I want you to listen. \rightarrow (I have a desire for you to listen)
  • She wants him to study. \rightarrow (She has a desire for him to study)
