⚡ The 'Want to' Pattern

In this story, we see a common way to talk about goals and desires: want + to + action.

How it works: When you desire to do something, you use this simple bridge.

  • He wants → to help him.
  • They want → to know.
  • He wants → to prove.

Simple Rule:

  • Person want(s)\text{want(s)} \rightarrow to [action]\text{to [action]}

Why this helps you reach A2: Instead of just saying "I like pizza" (A1), you can now explain your intentions.

Quick Examples from the text:

  • "He wants the government to keep important papers" \rightarrow (Goal: Saving documents)
  • "They want to know if he told lies" \rightarrow (Goal: Finding the truth)
