⚡ The Power of 'DID NOT'
In this story, we see a pattern: did not + action.
When we talk about the past and something failed or stopped, we use this simple formula. It is the key to A2 storytelling.
The Pattern:
Did not → Base Verb (Normal word)
Examples from the text:
- Did not stop → (They failed to block the sales)
- Did not fix → (They didn't repair the problem)
💡 Quick Rule: Notice that we say "did not stop" NOT "did not stopped". When "did" is there, the action word stays in its simplest form.
Compare:
- Positive: They fixed it. ✅
- Negative: They did not fix it. ❌
