🕒 The 'Past Time' Pattern

Look at these words from the story:

  • bought (buy → bought)
  • did not give (give → did not give)
  • sold (sell → sold)
  • went up (go up → went up)
  • traveled (travel → traveled)

The Rule for Beginners: To talk about yesterday or the past, we change the action word.

Important Tip: When we use "did not", the action word stays in its normal, present form.

  • Right: I did not give the ticket. ✅
  • Wrong: I did not gave the ticket. ❌

Quick List for your Notebook:

  • Present: Have \rightarrow Past: Had
  • Present: Say \rightarrow Past: Said
  • Present: Is \rightarrow Past: Was
