🟢 ACTION WORDS: GIVING & TAKING

In this story, we see how teams move players. We use two main words to describe this:

  • Buy → You give money to get a player. (Example: They bought Elliot Anderson)
  • Sell → You give a player to get money. (Example: They sold Alexander Isak)

🛠️ BUILDING THE SENTENCE

Look at how these sentences are made. It is very simple:

Who + Action + Who/What

The Pattern:

  • Manchester City (Who) \rightarrow bought (Action) \rightarrow Elliot (Who)
  • Newcastle (Who) \rightarrow sold (Action) \rightarrow players (What)

💡 USEFUL TIP

When we talk about the past (things that already happened), we often add -ed to the end of the action word:

  • Change \rightarrow Changed
  • Sell \rightarrow Sold (This one is special! It doesn't use -ed)
  • Buy \rightarrow Bought (Also special!)
