🧩 The 'Wants' Pattern

In this story, we see the word "wants" many times. This is a perfect way to talk about needs and desires in English.

How it works: When we talk about one person, one country, or one company, we add an -s to the action.

  • USA wants → (One country)
  • Canada wants → (One country)
  • Mexico wants → (One country)

The Logic Path: Person/Place → Action + S → Object Example: Mexico (Place) → wants (Action+S) → to help (Object)

⚠️ Word Alert: "Afraid"

Notice this sentence: "Companies are now afraid."

In A2 English, we use "be afraid" to show a feeling of fear about the future.

Simple Switch:

  • I am afraid → 😟
  • They are afraid → 😟
  • Companies are afraid → 😟

Quick Tip: Don't say "I have fear." Say "I am afraid."
