🕒 The 'Then and Now' Shift
Look at how the story moves from the past to the present. This is the key to A2 storytelling.
The Past (Finished Actions) We use simple words to describe things that happened and ended:
- Visited → The person visited India.
- Ate → They ate bad food.
- Stayed → They stayed in a hospital.
The Present (Current Habits) When the situation changes to today, the words change too:
- Is → The person is better now.
- Goes → ...and goes to work.
- Must take → ...they must take medicine every day.
Quick Guide for You: Past (2007/2011) Use -ed words (visited, stayed) or special words (ate). Present (Today) Use base words or add an -s (goes).
