Introduction

The European Union has a new digital border system. This system causes long waits at airports and ports.

Main Body

The new system is called EES. Now, some travelers must give their fingerprints and a photo of their face. Many airports in Spain, Italy, Poland, and France have big problems. There are not enough workers and the machines do not work.

這個新系統稱為 EES。現在，部分旅客必須提供指紋和面部照片。西班牙、義大利、波蘭與法國的許多機場都面臨嚴重問題，原因是人手不足且機器故障。

EU leaders say the system is fast. But airlines say people wait for five hours. Some planes leave without all the passengers. At the Port of Dover, the machines failed and it was a big problem.

This problem costs a lot of money. Tourists may not visit Europe. Because of this, travel companies want to stop the system until September or 2027.
