Introduction

Police in Ohio found sixteen children in a bad house. They arrested four adults for hurting the children.

Police went to a house in Hamden. They found sixteen children in one small room. The children lived there for four years. The room was very dirty. Some children could not speak or read. Seven children went to the hospital.

Quick Tip: Saying 'No' in the Past

To say something did NOT happen, use did not + the normal word. Do not use the past version of the word here!
