Some ticks give people a meat allergy. This is called alpha-gal syndrome. Many people in five US states have this problem, but the government does not count all the cases.

In the UK, Lyme disease is a big problem. Doctors see a red circle on the skin and give medicine. They do not always do a lab test. People should wear long clothes and use bug spray to stay safe.
