Making Schools Safer in India

Introduction

India wants to make schools safer for students. Schools must do more than just write rules.

Main Body

Many schools have safety rules and cameras. But these things do not always work during a problem. Some schools care more about their name than the students. Students are often afraid to tell teachers about problems.

School leaders do not always help with safety. They give the work to other people. Schools do not practice what to do in an emergency. They need to make safety a part of every day.

Now, the Delhi Police are visiting schools. They check fire plans and cameras. They check if there are enough security guards. They want to keep girls safe when they leave school.

Conclusion

Schools are now moving from simple rules to real action.

The 'Do' and 'Do Not' Pattern

In this text, we see a very useful way to describe reality versus a goal. To reach A2, you must master how to say what people do and do not do.

1. Negative Actions (The Problem) When we want to say something is missing or wrong, we use do not + action:

  • Do not always work → (It fails)
  • Do not always help → (They ignore the problem)
  • Do not practice → (They forget to train)

2. Positive Actions (The Solution) When we describe a fix, we use the action directly:

  • Check fire plans → (Looking for safety)
  • Keep girls safe → (Protecting students)
  • Make safety a part of every day → (Creating a habit)

Quick Guide for You If you want to complain or describe a problem → Use do not. If you want to suggest a solution → Use the action word.

Example: I do not study English every day. → I need to study every day.
