Introduction

UNESCO told the government of Pakistan that the Taxila site has problems. The site might leave the World Heritage List.

Main Body

A visitor took photos of the site. The photos show new cement and new stones. Workers changed old walls and made them taller. UNESCO says this is bad because the site is not original now.

UNESCO officials visited the site on June 12. They said a site in Germany left the list before. A leader in Pakistan says the work was only to stop the walls from falling. He says it was not a new building.

Pakistan wants 24 more sites on the World Heritage List. But this problem may stop that. Taxila is very important because it shows old Buddhist and Greek history.

Conclusion

Taxila will be on the 'Danger List' if Pakistan does not fix the walls.

🧱 Word Pairs: New vs. Old

In this story, we see a fight between things that are new and things that are old. To reach A2, you need to describe changes clearly.

The Pattern:

  • New cement \rightarrow Old walls

⚠️ The "Danger" Word: MAY

Look at this sentence: "This problem may stop that."

We use may when we are not 100% sure. It is like saying 'maybe'.

  • Fact: The site is on the list.
  • Possibility: It may leave the list.

🛠 Action Words (Past Simple)

To tell a story, we change the action word by adding -ed:
