Vocabulary Learning
💸 Talking about Money
In this text, we see a pattern for saying how much something costs or who pays for it. To reach A2, you need to move from simple words to comparing amounts.
The 'More vs Less' Pattern
- Spend more Pay a higher amount.
- Spend less Pay a lower amount.
Look at the text:
- "US spends too much money" (Too high! ❌)
- "France and Italy spend less" (Lower than US )
- "European countries now spend more" (Increasing )
Quick Tip:
When you want to compare two things in English, use these 'direction' words:
More / Less
Example for your life:
- I spend more money on food than on clothes.
