A Robot Saves a Space Telescope

Introduction

NASA hired a private company to save a space telescope. The telescope is falling toward Earth.

Main Body

The Swift telescope studies stars. It started to fall because of the sun and air. It cannot move itself. It will burn in the air by October.

NASA paid $30 million to a company called Katalyst. They sent a robot called Link. The robot has three arms. It started its trip from the Marshall Islands.

The robot Link will push the telescope higher. It will move the telescope 240 kilometers up. This keeps the telescope safe.

If this works, NASA can save other telescopes. They want to help the Hubble telescope in the future.

Conclusion

The Link robot is moving now. The telescope will work again by September.

Link

🚀 The 'Will' Power

When we talk about the future, we use will. It is a simple way to say something is going to happen later.

Look at these examples from the story:

  • It will burn in the air.
  • The robot will push the telescope.
  • It will move the telescope.
  • The telescope will work again.

How to use it: Person/ThingwillAction (Simple form)

Compare:

  • Now: The robot is moving. (Happening now)
  • Future: The robot will push. (Happening later)

Quick Tip: Notice that the action word (burn, push, move, work) does not change. We don't add "-ing" or "-ed". Just keep it simple!
